Fleet Insurance FAQs

What does fleet insurance cover?

Fleet insurance is for insuring more than one vehicle. This can be for personal or business use. Fleet insurance is more often than not used by businesses who have a range of cars that they use. These policies mean that a car can have multiple drivers, enabling the business to be more flexible. However, people use fleet insurance on personal cars too. Putting more than one car under one policy means that it can work out to be a lower premium than having a separate policy for each far. This is popular with families who have multiple vehicles at one address.

What kind of drivers do you cover?

We can cover a range of flexible driver options. This means that if you have multiple drivers driving multiple vehicles, we should still be able to cover you. One condition we do have is that we prefer drivers to be over the age of 25. This is simply to reduce risk – and therefore premiums.

Do I need to keep the vehicles anywhere special?

Where you keep your vehicle does generally affect your insurance premium. This is much more the case with personal car insurance than fleet insurance though. It might help if you can show us that your entire fleet is kept in a secure compound. However, this is not always the case. We do not require any particular locations for your fleet to be in before we will find you a quote.

Would a driver risk assessment make fleet insurance cheaper?

A driver risk assessment might help you get cheaper Fleet Insurance. This is a way of profiling your drivers and showing us that we can trust them to act safely and sensibly. However, this is not something we require. There is no guarantee that a driver assessment would help lower your premiums.
