Hazardous Industry Insurance FAQs

What is Hazardous Goods Transportation Insurance for?

If you transport hazardous goods – such as oil, chemicals, gas, waste etc – you need specialist insurance to properly cover you. We cover the particular risks that transporting dangerous goods entail.

Do I need any qualifications?

If you drive an HGV, you need an operator’s licence. This qualifies you to drive haulage vehicles. If you carry dangerous goods, you also need an ADR licence. We won’t be able to find you cover if you don’t have these licences.

What kind of vehicles do you cover?

We can cover many kinds of vehicles – from 7.5 tonne trucks to 44 tonne lorries. If you are uncertain if we can cover your vehicle, give us a call, and we will check for you.

What kind of fleets do you cover?

If your fleet has at least 25% of its turnover relating to the carriage of hazardous goods (or is comprised of at least 25% tankers), then we can cover it under a hazardous goods fleet policy.
